Heritage School Jammu, in association with the Bharat Scouts and Guides unit, successfully organized its Annual Scout& Guide camp from October 5th to October 7th, 2023, at the picturesque location of Sanasar. The event witnessed active participation from 36 enthusiastic Scouts and Guides.
The camp was skillfully led by an experienced team of trainers hailing from the State Headquarters of Bharat Scouts and Guides in Gandhinagar, Jammu. Ms. Manjeet Kour, Mr. Shahbaz Khan, Ms. Seema Gupta, and Mr. Haroon Malik played pivotal roles in ensuring the camp's success.
Over the course of three exciting days, Scouts and Guides were engaged in a wide array of activities that tested their skills, teamwork, and spirit of adventure. These included thrilling adventures like camping, Burma bridge, Log Bridge, Hanging net, Rig crossing, Tyre bridge, Free plank, tyre crossing, tyre tunnel, Artificial Climbing wall, archery, rifle shooting, trekking, catwalk, plank bridge, commando net, zip line over the lake, and free ladder. These activities not only provided a thrilling experience but also honed their physical and mental abilities.
In addition to the adventure activities, participants also engaged in various Scouting activities, where they learned and recited prayers, flag songs, promises, Laws, compass navigation, and different types of knots. One unique aspect of the camp was the introduction of Backwood cooking, a method of preparing meals without utensils, which added a fun and practical dimension to their learning experience.
