Heritage School Holds Awareness Programme on BOS.

Heritage School under the aegis of Reserve Bank of India organized an awareness programme on 30th July 2018 for the school faculty as well as the students of class XI and XII.
The aim of the programme was to generate awareness on Banking Ombudsman Scheme (BOS) started by RBI in 2006 and amended in 2017 with the increased thrust on customer protection and financial inclusion. BOS facilitates quick, fair and cost free redressal of complaints against commercial banks, scheduled primary Co-operative Banks and Regional Banks on deficiency in banking services.
The session focused on presentation of BOS, common causes of grievances as regards to banking services and precautions warned thereabout etc.
The resource persons from RBI were P. Shimrah, Banking Ombudsman for Jammu and Kashmir and Sh. H.S. Verma, Secretary to the office of Banking Ombudsmen. They apprised the students on the Banking Ombudsmen Scheme as well as customer related matters. Sh. P. Shimrah carries a lot of experience in the area of customer grievance redressal and Sh. H.S. Verma has been doing awareness programme for quite sometime.
They not only presented the information in a very simple and effective manner but also dealt with the queries and questions very patiently.
It was a highly productive and insightful session which provided students a practical exposure to the world of work.
