WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS ON ADOLESCENT GUIDANCE HELD AT HERITAGE SCHOOL

A workshop on life skills, gender sensitivity, harassment at workplace, drugs awareness, Guidance and counselling for adolescents was organised for the staff of Heritage School Jammu.
The informative workshop was conducted by Dr. Chand Trehen, Director, Centre of Counselling Assessment, Research and Empowerment ‘CARE’ Dr. Trehen is a renowned Psychologist and Counsellor in the field of learning in multicultural environment, capacity building, quality management, encouraging leadership, motivational coaching and decision making. She is actively associated with CBSE, JKBOSE, University of Jammu and many schools of repute for counselling and guidance.
The workshop was conducted in two sessions, initially for the primary and kindergarten teachers and then for middle wing and senior school teachers. Dr. Trehen dwelled upon the sensitive issues of creating a respectful workplace, appreciating diversity and accepting differences amongst colleagues, adolescent related issues like bullying, substance abuse, and mentoring of maladjustment in teenagers.
The efforts of the workshop were directed towards making teaching learning more effective in the changing environment of the present times and to push ourselves to being exemplar teachers.
