HERITAGE SCHOOL, PRIMARY WING (III-V), CELEBRATES ANNUAL DAY KATHA SAGAR…….A JOURNEY OF THE SEARCH WITHIN

Heritage School Jammu, celebrated its Primary School Annual Function (III-V) on Thursday, 13th December 2018 at Gen Zorawar Singh Auditorium.
Maj Gen Naveen Kumar Airy, ADG, NCC, J&K, Jammu, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Ms Anoo Malhotra, Director Technical Education, Jammu as Guest of Honour.
The function began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp followed by welcome address by Sehaj Satish Sharma, the Junior Head Boy of the school. The Auditorium then reverberated with soulful rendition of a medley of six songs by the junior Minstrels of Melody.
The cultural extravaganza Katha Sagar-‘a journey of the search within’, revolved around how an introvert draws inspiration from the life stories of some great personalities such as Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindra Nath Tagore, Nelson Mandela, Stephen Hawking, Charlie Chaplin and Muhammad Ali. It impressed upon the need to look within and find strength to become a winner in life. It witnessed participation of almost 600 students who worked tirelessly and enthusiastically under the expert guidance of four young and very talented choreographers from - Moove Abstract Arts & Entertainment Pvt.Ltd., New Delhi.
At the prize giving ceremony, the Guest of Honour felicitated the winners in Sahodaya Sports Competition. Archit Pandoh(IV E) won 1 silver and 1 bronze medals in Skating. Samarth Gupta(V D) won 2 bronze medals, Arshiya Bhardwaj(V B) won 1 bronze, Aditi Bargotra(V B) won 1 gold and 1 bronze medals and Abhiraj Rai Gupta(IV F) won 1 silver and 2 bronze medals in Swimming. Medhansh Sharma(III D) was presented with a trophy for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Sports for 2018-19’ for winning 12 silver and 3 bronze medals in Skating Competitions at various levels.
The Chief Guest awarded the winners of ‘All Rounder’ trophies for the session 2017-18 to Archit Pandoh(IV E), Rujla Mahajan(IV F), Amiteshwar Singh(V F), Sehaj Satish Sharma(V F), Vishav Gupta(VI) and Atharv Dabgotra(VI).The ‘Best House’ trophy among juniors was lifted by Culture House. Mr. Sunil Gupta, the Chairman of the school, presented the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour with mementos.
The Chief Guest, Maj Gen Naveen Kumar Airy, in his address, appreciated the efforts of the students and the teachers for putting up a fabulous show. He emphasized on the fact that the problems in life can be overcome with self discipline and self motivation . He stressed on the importance of spending quality time with children which is more important than showering them with gifts. He also spoke about the significance of NCC training right from a young age in shaping the personality of a child.
Mrs Vandana Jasrotia, Headmistress, Heritage School presented the vote of thanks.The programme concluded with the School Song.
