HERITAGE SCHOOL HOLDS EXPERT TALK ON CULTURAL HERITAGE

“It is not the honour that you take with you, but the heritage you leave behind”.

Cultural Heritage is described as the common wealth of mankind. To commemorate our rich cultural past and to spread awareness about preserving and protecting our Cultural Heritage, an expert talk was held on the premises of Heritage School on 23rd April,2019. The distinguished guest to grace this occasion and to enlighten the students with important information on the need to preserve our Cultural Heritage was, Ms. Sindhu Kapoor. She is an associate professor in History, Higher Education Department J&k govt. She is presently working as Co-ordinator, Honours and Integrated Course in Cultural History—Cluster University of Jammu. Her valiant struggle backed by her strong determination brought her all the way where she is now. She has won 5 Gold Medals including Maharani Yasho Rajyalaxmi Gold for best graduate for the year 1994.
She sensitized the students about the importance of the World Heritage Day and her lecture included topics throwing light on the meaning and classification of Heritage and preservation of the Heritage of J&K emphasizing on the need to preserve some of the local Heritage sites. She also extended her gratitude to the entire Heritage fraternity for organizing this event and rendering her an opportunity to motivate the young students to become responsible citizens and respect their natural inheritance.
This programme was an integral part of the week long World Heritage Day celebration conducted by the school.
