The Scouts & Guides wing of Heritage School, Jammu, orchestrated a captivating one-day trekking expedition at Mansar on the 20th of December, 2023. A total of 73 students across various classes eagerly participated in this adventurous expedition, overseen by Ms. Manjeet Kour ,Joint State Commissioner ( Guide ) Jammu , along with the staff from Heritage School. The primary aim of this expedition was to instil an appreciation for nature, enhance physical fitness, and foster mental strength among the participants. The camp proved to be an enriching experience for the young trekkers from Heritage School, offering a refreshing break from their daily routines while equipping them with skills promoting independence and self-reliance. The participants had the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in village life, engaging in interactions with rural communities and gaining firsthand knowledge about the local flora and fauna. Additionally, they explored various temples dedicated to different deities, enriching their cultural understanding. An array of engaging activities was organized during the camp, including lessons on the patrol system, knots, first aid, woodcraft, sign language, and code word signalling. These activities aimed to enhance the participants' skill set and provided them with memorable learning experiences and nurturing a deeper connection with nature and communal understanding.
