Heritageans Immerse in Academic & Cultural Exchange at Scindia School

A delegation of nine students from Heritage School, Jammu, embarked on a domestic exchange program to Scindia School, Fort Gwalior, under the auspices of the ASF , from 6th October to 12th October, 2024. The week-long sojourn provided a unique opportunity for the young scholars to immerse themselves in the academic, cultural, and social fabric of this prestigious boarding institution. Accompanied by a teacher escort, the students from Classes 11 and 9 actively engaged in a variety of activities alongside their Scindia School counterparts. They attended academic and hobby classes, broadening their horizons and gaining valuable insights into diverse learning methodologies. Moreover, their participation in sports events fostered a spirit of camaraderie and teamwork. The exchange program also offered a glimpse into the distinctive lifestyle of a boarding school, set against the picturesque backdrop of Gwalior Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Students explored the historical architecture of the fort and ventured into the school's verdant meadows, where local plant species are cultivated, and water conservation practices are implemented through traditional "tals" maintained by the students and faculty themselves. A cultural highlight of the visit was participation in the Dusshera celebrations, which provided a fascinating glimpse into the rich traditions upheld by Scindia School. The entire experience proved to be immensely enriching, not only for the students but also for the teacher escort, who had the opportunity to engage with Scindia School's faculty and students, fostering a spirit of exchange and collaboration. This exchange program has undoubtedly been a memorable and educational journey for all involved, offering a harmonious blend of history, education, and culture.
