Heritage School recently organized a Gender Sensitivity Workshop aimed at fostering awareness and understanding among students. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Surbhi Sharma, a renowned counsellor and psychologist, and was attended by students from Classes VI – XI .
The interactive and insightful session addressed a range of critical topics relevant to the students' age group. It began with a discussion on Cybercrime Awareness, emphasizing the importance of online safety and responsible digital behaviour. Students were encouraged to be sensitive and mindful, fostering empathy and respect in their interactions with others. The session also highlighted the significance of setting boundaries, teaching students about the value of personal space. Issues like body shaming were tackled, with a focus on recognizing and rejecting harmful stereotypes, while rejecting racist ideas promoted inclusivity and celebration of diversity. The workshop provided valuable insights into navigating healthy teenage relationships, guiding students toward building positive and respectful connections. It emphasized the significance of fostering a respectful and inclusive environment, equipping students with tools to handle sensitive issues with maturity and understanding.
The session was well-received, with students actively engaging in discussions and gaining valuable insights for their personal and social growth.
