Journey to the End of the Earth - A Captivating Guest Lecture
The English department recently organized a distinguished guest lecture on ‘Journey to the End of the Earth’ as part of its initiative ‘Learn from the Best Within’ This event marked the fifth lecture in the series, which aims to provide students with enriching educational experiences. Principal , Mr. Akash Pradhan led the session, which was enriched by valuable insights and experiences shared by Dr. Rahul Jain, medical officer on the 44th Indian Antarctic scientific mission and expert in anesthesia and critical care currently posted in Antarctica. The lecture explored fascinating topics such as the history of the Earth, continental drift, the Antarctic ecosystem and the human impact on the environment, based on the literature chapter 'Journey to the End of the Earth.' Dr. Rahul Jain's real-time pictures and experiences added a unique dimension to the lecture. Emphasizing the significance of the event, it was highlighted that the students, as torchbearers for tomorrow, have the potential to contribute significantly to the health of Mother Earth. The lecture also aimed to raise awareness among the future policymakers about the critical importance of preserving our planet, reminding them that the Earth is the only home we have. Principal Mr. Akash Pradhan concluded the session with a thought-provoking message, emphasizing the importance of ecological conservation and encouraging students to plant a tree in the name of their mother. The guest lecture was well-received by the Class 12th students, who appreciated the opportunity to learn from distinguished experts.
