Heritage School Organises CBSE Workshop On Life Skills (Advanced)
Heritage School organised a CBSE Workshop on Life Skills (Advanced) on Saturday, 6th December 2025, aimed at strengthening teachers’ understanding of life skills and their effective integration into classroom practice. The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from sixty teachers, making it a highly interactive and insightful professional development programme.
The sessions were facilitated by two esteemed CBSE resource persons, Dr. Atul Hans, Principal of IDRS and Dr. Anita Sharma, Principal of RRL High School, Jammu. Dr. Hans, a dynamic academic leader and experienced CBSE trainer, specialising in curriculum design, life skills education and capacity-building initiatives, brought a practical and learner-centric approach to his sessions. Dr. Sharma, a veteran educationist with nearly three decades of experience, is a CBSE Master Trainer, author and mentor, widely known for her impactful contributions to teacher training and her deep understanding of life skills pedagogy. Together, they enriched the workshop with their expertise and hands-on methodologies.
The workshop was structured into five comprehensive sessions, jointly conducted by both resource persons. The key areas covered included:
● Understanding Life Skills and their relevance in the school ecosystem
● Overview of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and its emphasis on holistic development
● Insights into the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) and its approach towards competency-based education
● Integration of Basic and Advanced Life Skills with various subjects and classroom activities
● Effective implementation strategies for embedding life skills within day-to-day teaching
● Measurement and assessment of life skills aligned with learning outcomes
Throughout the workshop, teachers actively engaged in discussions, reflective exercises and scenario-based tasks. The resource persons emphasised the importance of embedding life skills organically in everyday teaching to prepare students for real-world challenges.
The programme concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where teachers shared how the workshop broadened their pedagogical perspectives and equipped them with new strategies for classroom implementation.
