CII AWARENESS SESSION ON ANTI LITTERING ‘PHENK MAT JAMMU’
On 22nd November, 2019, Heritage School organized an awareness session on anti-littering ‘Phenk- Mat Jammu’ under the collaboration of CII-Confederation of Indian Industry in association with Jammu Municipal Corporation.
The session was held for classes VI and VII in the school Amphi-theatre.The chief guests on the day was Mr. Pankaj Magotra-Commissioner JMC. The other dignitaries present were Dr. Zaffar Iqbal -Nodal officer JMC and Mr. Sujiv Jain –Member CII J&K and Managing director Karamhans Food Private Limited. The session was coordinated by Ms.Mahak Luthra- Executive CII J&K.
The main perspective of the session was to educate youth on making Jammu litter free and encourage them to develop habits of cleanliness. The campaign envisaged to bring about a permanent behavior change among the citizens of Jammu by encouraging them to change their habits and keep the city clean.
The esteemed dignitaries addressed the gathering. Mr. Pankaj Magotra spoke about the importance of cleanliness and various initiatives taken by JMC to make Jammu litter free. He suggested some practices and how they can be taken on every day basis where as Dr.Zaffar Iqbal spoke about Solid Waste Management and the various initiatives taken by JMC.
A team of eight people presented a short skit on Plastic Waste Management. The main motive of the skit was to make the students aware about hazards of using plastic bags and other plastic material.The motivational skit generated a thunderous applause from the audience. A short presentation on Plastic Waste Management has been shown to the students and the various campaigns started by JMC.
Cleanliness is one of the good qualities.it is a part of our civilization. So,with a progress of civilization,one must not litter the surroundings when your environment is clean,you feel happy,healthy and motivated.
Mr. Sujiv Jain –Member CII J&K and Managing director Karamhans Food Private Limited felicitated the dignitaries with memento. Mr. Akash Pradhan–The Principal Heritage School presented memento to the dignitaries and expressed his gratitude to them for giving their valuable time to the school.
