Raavan, the King of Lanka, was a very learned man. It is said that he knew the four Vedas by heart and had Kaldev tied to his bedpost. Still he represented Evil. Lord Ram was the epitome of Fairness, Truth, Love and Valor. His victory over Raavan symbolizes the triumph of Good over Evil.
